Overview
Hedgine is largely known for its signature trait, Gotta Go Fast, which boosts all of its moves up to high priority. This allows Hedgine to better utilize techniques such as Plasma Beam, Harmful Microwaves, and Generify than other Tems can. Without synergy, Hedgine’s turn one options are a bit limited, but after that point it gains access to more threatening moves. Hedgine’s typing allows it to synergize with several allies in very threatening ways. However, this same typing suffers from four common weaknesses, including a dangerous 4x weakness to Water, so smart use of Generify and/or careful piloting are required. Hedgine’s other trait is not commonly picked, but Going Away Gift allows it to be a recipient for stat buffs that can outlive it, denying the opponent the ability to KO Hedgine to remove the buffs from the game.

Description

Hedgine's trait enables it to strike incredibly quickly, and that makes it a staple of both digital cores and Sparks teams. Priority lets you get away with a lot of things in Temtem, and having priority on everything is nearly exactly as strong as it sounds.
Hellfire and Fire Tornado find their way onto almost every Hedgine set. There's not really a lot to say about them - priority Fire Tornado is absolutely insane, and Hellfire incentivizes Mimit and Heat Up Zaobian as partners, as well as Fire Chromeon, Tulcan, and almost any fire, really. Harmful Microwaves, despite always being fast, is still best played next to other digitals, as it will run Hedgine out of stamina very quickly even through Fake Beard. Plasma Beam is very, very strong with priority, weakening opposing threats with burn while dealing unresisted damage. One of these, usually Microwaves, can be dropped for Generify if played alongside neutral tems if Hedgine holds Kaleidoscope, letting Hedgine essentially use Bamboozle at priority while keeping itself safe from water, digital, electric, and earth attacks.
Digital tems are fantastic partners for Hedgine, of course, as are faster sparks users like Amphatyr, 0b10, and Gazuma.
